Assistant Planner

The company is seeking to recruit an Assistant Planner to join its Planning team and meet the increasing demand for the company’s services. The successful candidate will help manage an existing portfolio of residential sites throughout Ireland and assist in identifying future development opportunities. The candidate will be working on residential projects and it is essential that prospective candidates have relevant and recent experience in the residential sector. The position available will offer the successful candidate the opportunity to work on a wide variety of projects and to gain experience of working closely with the construction, sales, marketing and acquisition team allowing them to learn how a housebuilding company operates.

The successful candidate will have:

·         A recognised IPI or RTPI planning qualification

·         A minimum of 2 years planning experience

·         Good working knowledge of the Irish planning system

·         The ability to demonstrate good analytical and IT skills

·         Strong writing and presentation skills

·         A full drivers license

The key responsibilities associated with the role will include:

·         Providing inputs on planning projects from inception to completion including interaction with project stakeholders and other project team members;

·         Undertaking background research, desk studies, field visits and preparing planning appraisals, reports and appeals;

·         Engaging with relevant authorities and stakeholders in planning projects;

·         Delivering fit for purpose project outputs within set deadlines;

Prospective candidates will be expected to have excellent report writing skills, be well organised with meticulous attention to detail while also being able to manage a varied and full workload. The candidate should thrive in a busy work environment and on delivering to required project deadlines.
