Volunteer Engineers Wanted for ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build’

The hugely successful BBC Series, ‘DIY SOS: The Big Build’, is coming to Ireland and producers are now looking for Irish structural volunteer engineers to get involved.

This is the first time the format is moving outside the UK. Irish Producers, Motive Television, are making the Series for RTÉ One and are now looking for Engineers Ireland members who are willing to spare a few days of their time and share their skills to help a family in need.

Volunteer Engineers Wanted

Ideally, engineers would have a close working relationship with an architectural practice and who might be happy to partner up and volunteer some time for the design stage of one build.

There are four episodes being made, with builds currently planned from late summer/early Autumn through to Spring 2020.

‘DIY SOS IRELAND – The Big Build’ is an inspirational and feel-good format for RTÉ One, which will see a deserving family facing hugely difficult personal circumstances get a significant home makeover to help improve their quality of life.

Irish viewers will be familiar with the hit show from the UK, where the DIY SOS team there have been helping families & communities for the past 17 years. Now – for the very first time – DIY SOS will by helping families in Ireland. The team is hoping to help deserving families across the country struggling to cope with a devastating illness or life-limiting condition, who desperately need help to rebuild their homes & hopefully transform their lives in the process.
